Gazzetta: AC Milan 3-1 Chievo, player ratings
AC Milan’s winning streak continues thanks to an inspired Suso and the lethal Higuain. The Rossoneri dominate and convince againts Chievo Verona.
No flops among the Rossoneri yesterday and it could not have been otherwise. Albeit against a modest Chievo Verona, we saw only one absolute master of the pitch and AC Milan dominated for the entire 90 minutes.
For La Gazzetta dello Sport, on newsstands today, Suso was the man of the match. Three assists and a deserving 7.5 for the in-form Spaniard. The commentary of La Gazzetta is as follows: “Only at the 68 minute we see Suso make his first wrong pass. Ok, Chievo is not the best Italian team but the Spanish winger is going through an impressive period of continuity and precision. Dribbling, passes, cross, assists (amazing the 2nd). Everything that happens in attack starts from his wise feet“.
7 instead for Gonzalo Higuain, with the newspaper wondering how many dinners the Argentine striker will have to pay to his teammate for the multiple assists. 6 for not so brilliant Hakan Calhanoglu, limited in his task, and for Patrick Cutrone who enters the game at the 76th minute and puts the usual grit.
In midfield, Lucas Biglia (7) was a true giant. “A lighthouse at San Siro. In continuous growth, finally. Better in passes, interceptions and in recovered balls. A true regista in the control room“, emphasizes the newspaper. 6.5 for Giacomo Bonaventura and 6 for Frank Kessie. Same ratings also for Ignazio Abate, Cristian Zapata, Mateo Musachio and Gianluigi Donnarumma. 6.5 for Ricardo Rodriguez.
However, underlines the newspaper, the Argentine centre back does not convince 100% and is the least brilliant among the Rossoneri: “Bad start, with many fouls and unacceptable errors. He recovers and wins all the air duels suffocating Stempinski. When Pellissier wanders around him, it’s a bit harder for Musacchio: a question of pace. But the Argentine is never in real difficulty, therefore sufficiency“.
